127 Hours.

One word sums up the movie- Gore.
No words can truly express how gory it was watching James Franco try to saw off his own arm.

The premise of this movie is this,
Aron, played by Franco is an adventure junkie. He hikes and climbs regularly.
He meets two young ladies on his hike. They play around in the water in some cave at the bottom of the canyon.

The next moment he is by himself, he is all gung ho, leaping around and climbing in cracks.
He slips and falls and down comes crashing this huge boulder and it traps his right hand.
He spends the next 127 hours trying to escape.

I give credit to James Franco, his acting was very believable, he portrayed pain, anguish and desperation very realistically. It was not acting, it was very good acting! I could feel the pain and empathize with his character. And at the end of the day that's what makes a performance excellent. Making the audience like you and go along the journey with you.
Everyone in the audience was rooting for him to snap his hand off and escape.

I read a few online comments so i knew how it was going to end. Its a happy story and a real one at that.
This movie is based on actual real life events.

The amount of will power and resilience is so tremendous. One needs a lot of courage to last for 5 days.
Imagine being all alone, trapped and in so much pain.
Not much food or water. Not just anyone will be able to survive such an ordeal.

If you don't mind blood I suggest you watch this movie. Directed by Danny Boyle, who did Slumdog Millionaire.

I loved the cinematic experience, the way the camera shot some scenes was very interesting and original.
They took a shot from the base of the transparent water bottle, through the water and showed Franco's face. There were also shots of him drinking his urine, they filmed yellow liquid traveling up one of those 'suck-out-of-the-pipe-connected-to-your-bag-thingys'
A lot of scenes to do with water, like when they were swimming, they filmed underwater shots, the camera was stationary while the actors swim up to the surface.

Its a heart wrenching and emotionally stimulating show.
I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Mike Posner

My new favorite singer!
His voice has a real unique sound to it.

I love the song Bow Chicka Wow Wow. haha.

Please don't go.
Cooler than me.

His voice is so smooth.

Natalie Hiong At Timbre and Esplanade.

A week ago my sister asked me if i wanted to go to Timbre to see her boyfriend play bass.
And i was like heck yea! Drinks and a musical performance, what could be better?

I was with my video production group that day so i asked Shanice and Hana if they wanted to go to Timbre.
So it was settled, we were all gonna go.

Then my sis tells me that she woke up late and won't make it. So we still go ahead. We have to walk a long way from the MRT, i used my iphone map and we reached ok.

We get there and they play for 30 min. Of course its not Shanice's type of music.

She played the bubbly and sweet melodic songs. Where as Shanice is a rocker, heavy metal sort of gal.
She complained about it the whole time.

I ignored her and took shaky videos of the set.

We then order drinks. I get a lime margarita. Ok i have blogged about this already! Why am i saying the same thing??

Ok so the next time i go and see Natalie Hiong is at the Esplanade.
My cousins surprise me! They come and join my and my sis for sushi, totally did not expect them!
It was fun that they came!
Navin, Jeevan, my bro and sis.

I have to say i like her music. She writes all of her songs which is impressive!

Check her out- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ay2ZzfFmhQc

After the performance we go to the makansutra hawker place and eat some more.

I have lots of pictures and videos from both days.

ITS OVER!

All the Continual Assessments are over!
Year 1 is done with.

Hallelujah! Wooo Hooooo!

The seniors say that year 2 is crazy! It is much harder. And i'm scared.

Even though all the papers and classes and finished.
I keep thinking about school. And worrying about my GPA!

I want to spend this holiday well and really prepare myself for the next semester!

My Birthday.

So I am 18 now.
I feel old.

I am old enough to drive.
I am old enough to drink and smoke.
I am old enough to watch M18 movies.

On my birthday I still had one more paper for my Communication skills for media makers module.
Honestly, it was fine. I just wanted to get it over and done with. I plugged in my music and typed away for about and hour or so.

Then i made an appointment to get my nails done at City Nails in Nex.
And it was freaking expensive! $49 for express mani and a custom pedicure.

Never again! $50 for nails that last me a week before they start to chip and fade.

After my nails dried i went to Tao Payoh to meet up with my classmates.
Kelly was the first to arrive!
I love her!
She was so cute. She hugged me and spun me around till i was dizzy!
Then after that she walked around me in circles singing me happy birthday.
It just so happened that we were standing next to the passport photo machine.

We entered giggling like lil' girls and took a picture :)
That was such fun!

She gave me an awesomely big box of hello panda biscuits, the chocolate ones.

Then deshun came and we walked to Sizzler for dinner!
Michael and Li ling came later on.

I got the fish and chips and lots of salad.
We all ate till we wanted to explode.

After the huge dinner we went to Dhoby Ghaut thinking there would be a karaoke place.

Hold up a sec. How do you pronounce karaoke?? Is it ka-row-kay? Or kare-ee-okie??

LOL.. i dont say it like the Singaporean's do.

Anyway in the end we gave up finding a place and sat outside of SOTA. We talked for a while, and i played some songs and sang all by myself.

I watched three 147 buses pass by.
I then decided to head home like a good little girl. At 11 pm...

My dad called me twice...
For crying out loud, you would think now that i'm 18 i would have an extended curfew.

I came home and poured myself two glasses of wine.
I face got a bit warm and my breath smelled like wine!

I slept and woke up at 10 for church the next day.

No complains, it was an ok birthday. I just wish that it was more fun.

Random Post.

Its been a long time.
Nothing much has happened.

CNY has past and gone by. Hung out with my cousin. She gave me OPI nail polish.. Dulce De Leche :)

Handed in half of my assignments.
I have a video to edit and shoot and two papers to write in the next two weeks.
I can't believe that I have attended a year of school. It's so fast!

I'm going to be year 2 soon.

After the March holidays, and my Guam trip i can call myself a freshie no more. I am a 2nd year student!

I have raised about more than half of the sum i have to get. I recently got $500 from a friend.
Sam, Caleb and I went to India together. This was such an unexpected gift!
I'm so grateful.

Have not been working much, after all I have been focusing on school.

Yesterday I went to Timbre with Shanice and Hana.
It was quite fun, went to see my sister's boyfriend play the bass.
I got a lime margarita. Paid $16 for it... such overpriced crap.

I have been going to Arab Street a lot lately.
As my group is filming the place for out video project- Singapore, A Place of Interest.
I will editing most of today.
Probably going to shoot some more tonight.

Yeah.. thats all i can think about for now.

I got my first A! On writing an essay on globalisation.
Ok bye.
